Back in 1857, all of America was reading the words of Mrs. Bates, a Kingston native who  sailed to California in 1850 on board the Nonantum, a coaler commanded by her husband. On reaching that state, the Bates undertook hotel keeping in Marysville for a period from 1851 to 1854.

Hometown Heroes...
The town office of Veteran's Affairs has provided rare group photos of Kingston's WWI and WWII veterans. We need your help to identify some of the vets in the pictures. [GO]
A 'New' Town Song?
To help celebrate the town's 275th birthday and the history of the Brig Independence, Bradford J. Randall, Age 13  wrote a song. The first public performance was at the Ecumenical Service held at First Parish on June 16, 2001.
